The public owns the airwaves, and rights of way. Require a system for TV, cable and radio stations to give time to candidates who have obtained x number of signatures for the 2 weeks prior to each election. Design City, county, state, and federal web sites for all election campaigns: select issues and ask candidates to post their positions on each issue. post the candidates background and bios if the candidate had a previous legislative, executive, or judicial position, post the candidate's previous voting record, decision record, etc. post or link to evaluations of the candidates ratings by special interest groups such as environmental groups, business groups, etc. being sure to expose the true backing of any special interest group. Better System of Direct Communication between Legislative Representatives & Voters For Each legislature have a web site that explain the legislative process give the status of each bill in the process allow direct communication with constituents on each bill as it is going through the legislative process. Title and Categorize every bill in a way that it can be pulled up in a search under all appropriate categories or key words. Each bill (on the web site) has a blurb by its sponsors re. why it is necessary,... Each bill has a (web site) section for its proponants and its opponents to post their reasons proposing or opposing it. Allow links to supporting information. Registered voters in appropriate districts can caste their "vote" on each bill as it goes through the legislative process. The vote results will be instantly displayed for the legislative representative's and the public's benefit.
